Current coverage from the stored data, not a fixed claim. The planner only ever compares covered FBOs and says so.
125 covered airports in 30 states, 228 fuel vendors, 524 current price postings; 125 airports list at least one vendor. Selected from FAA activity data (the busiest piston-GA fields) and verified to post a 100LL price. Fee coverage varies by FBO and is stated on every result.

How the estimate works
- Fuel purchase= your planned US gallons x the FBO’s posted price for that grade and service, priced as posted. Prices older than 30 days are historical and never priced.
- Stop estimate= fuel + the FBO’s ramp/facility/handling charge + airport charges the FBO collects (counted once) + aircraft parking for your arrival and departure times + any optional service you selected, minus documented fuel-purchase waivers, evaluated against your exact grade, gallons and aircraft class.
- Unknown is not zero.A charge with no supported amount is named as missing, the FBO is ranked below fully supported ones, and no estimated tax rate is ever applied. “Lowest” means lowest among the covered FBOs in your search, not a judgement of service or fuel quality.
- Per-night, per-24-hour and hourlyschedules are each billed the way the FBO states, in the airport’s own timezone. When the FBO does not state how it bills a stay, the estimate says so.
Where prices come from. 100LL and Jet A prices are read from public FBO fuel listings on a schedule (about once a week per airport, from our own systems, never on page load) and from pilot reports reviewed by ATIS Alerts. FBOs can also update their own listing once it is claimed.
What “updated” means. The date shown with a price is the date the FBO last updated its posting, not the day we read it. A “guaranteed price, checked” line is a posting the FBO commits to keep current, dated by our last check. Prices are labelled Current (0–7 days), Recent (8–14), Aging (15–30) or Stale (31+); a stale price is shown as “last reported” and never ranked as current.
Which price is shown. Every posting is kept; nothing is overwritten. When more than one source reports the same FBO, fuel and service, the displayed price is the newest from the most trusted source: FBO verified, then receipt verified, then the public listing, then pilot reported. A fresh pilot report only replaces a listing price that is more than two weeks old.
Pilot reports and Fuel PIREPs.Everything a pilot submits is held for review before it appears, and is labelled “Pilot reported” when it does. Pilot Fuel PIREPs are community-submitted notes about fuel, FBO service and fees; they are not official FAA pilot weather reports.
Fees.Fee lines carry their source: FBO listing (the FBO’s own published statement), Pilot reported (a reviewed pilot report, with the aircraft and date), Receipt verified or FBO verified. Fees vary by aircraft, so lines are shown per aircraft class; a fee the FBO states without qualification is shown for all aircraft. Where the FBO states nothing, the page says so rather than guessing.
Nearby fuel. Distances are great-circle (straight-line) airport to airport, not routed flight distance. The savings figure is price difference × gallons only. It does not account for the additional flight time or fuel burned reaching the other airport.
Fuel prices are posted by FBOs or reported by pilots and change without notice. Confirm the price, fuel availability and hours with the FBO before you fly. ATIS Alerts does not sell fuel.
