About ATIS Alerts
ATIS Alerts is built and operated by The Better Travelers, LLC, a small US company. We built it for one reason: checking aviation weather before a flight means juggling METARs, TAFs, ATIS broadcasts, crosswind math, and FAA delay pages across half a dozen apps and websites — and none of them tell you when something changes. ATIS Alerts puts live conditions for every US airport on one page, and our free Telegram bot messages you the moment the ATIS letter flips or the weather drops below your personal minimums.
We are not affiliated with the FAA, and nothing on this site is approved for operational use. Every page carries that disclaimer because it matters: this is a situational-awareness tool. Always get an official briefing from FAA-approved sources before you fly.

How the derived numbers are computed
Some of what you see here is computed by us, not published by anyone: per-runway head/tail and crosswind components are calculated from the current reported wind and each runway's true heading; the “Active Runway” estimate counts, for each hourly observation in our own collected history, which runway had the most headwind (it is an estimate from wind — never actual ATC assignments); and the 24-hour and 7-day condition summaries come from METAR observations we snapshot every hour and retain for 31 days.
Honesty rules we follow
- If an airport has no weather station, we say so plainly and show the nearest reporting station with its distance — we never present borrowed data as the airport's own.
- We never invent aviation data. If a field is unavailable, it is omitted, not filled in.
- FAA delay, TFR, and D-ATIS information always links back to the official source so you can verify it.
