How ATIS Alerts works

   Get Telegram: it's free for everyone

   ATIS Alerts lives inside Telegram, a messaging app like WhatsApp or iMessage. Telegram is free to download and free to use, for everyone, on iPhone, Android and desktop. There's no separate ATIS Alerts app to install and no account to create; alerts simply arrive as ordinary messages. Signing up takes a couple of minutes: it asks for your phone number and texts you a code. Get Telegram for my device ↗

   Open the ATIS Alerts bot

   Tap Get free ATIS alerts, hit Start, and accept the safety disclaimer: that's the whole signup. The bot then hands you a Set Up My Alerts button. If you just installed Telegram, come back here and use that link rather than searching in the app: a fresh install opens to your chat list, not to us.

How the alerts work

Setup runs in the app inside Telegram: tap a button, not a command.

  Add your airports

  Tap Set Up My Alerts, after the first time it's the Manage Alerts button at the bottom of the chat, and the app opens right inside Telegram. Search for your airports under Airports: your home field, a destination, an alternate. No commands to memorise. Starting from an airport page on this site instead? Its Track button carries that airport straight in with you.

  Tell it how you fly

  Same app: pick your alert style, and on Premium set your personal minimums: ceiling, visibility, wind and crosswind limits. Scheduled Outlooks and FAA Delays are in there too, and you can change any of it later.

  Get alerts only when it matters

  The bot watches the weather and messages you the instant something changes: the ATIS letter at D-ATIS airports, the flight category, or your own wind and ceiling minimums.
