Why BOS gets delayed
Boston Logan is one of the most program-heavy airports in the country. The FAA ran 193 ground stops and ground delay programs for BOS between October 2025 and October 2026, on 135 different days. Logan sits on a harbor peninsula and the weather that hurts it comes off the water: low clouds caused about a quarter of the programs and wind another 11%, because the wind decides which of Logan's runways can be used together.
