About the data
Weather comes from the FAA/NWS Aviation Weather Center (aviationweather.gov) METAR feed; delay status comes from the FAA National Airspace System Status feed (nasstatus.faa.gov), refreshed about every two minutes. Fields without their own station show the nearest reporting station, clearly labeled. If a feed is briefly unavailable the widget says so rather than showing stale or fabricated data. Is the widget really free?
Yes — free for any website, no account, no API key, no traffic limits within reason. We ask only that you keep the small 'Powered by ATIS Alerts' credit link intact; that credit is how the free widget stays free.
What data does it show, and how fresh is it?
Current METAR-derived conditions (flight category, wind, visibility, ceiling, temperature, altimeter), a plain-English summary, and any active FAA ground stop or delay for the airport. Weather refreshes every couple of minutes and the widget reloads itself every 10 minutes.
Will it slow my site down?
No. The loader is about 2 KB, loads async, and the widget renders in an isolated iframe of roughly 8 KB with no external fonts or frameworks — it can't touch your page's styles or scripts.
Can I embed more than one airport?
Yes — paste the script tag once per airport. The widgets size themselves independently.
Which airports are supported?
Every public US airport in our database (13,000+). Fields without their own weather station automatically show the nearest reporting station, clearly labeled.
Can I remove the 'Powered by ATIS Alerts' credit?
No — the attribution link is the license for the free widget. If you need a white-label or customized version, contact us.
Is this official FAA data?
The widget displays data sourced from public FAA/NWS feeds (aviationweather.gov and the FAA NAS Status system), but it is not an official FAA product and must not be presented as an operational data source.
