Powered by ATIS Alerts
This preview is the real widget — exactly what visitors to your site will see. The small “Powered by ATIS Alerts” credit below it is included in your embed code; keeping it is how the widget stays free.
Installation
- Pick your airport above and copy the one-line script tag.
- Paste it into your page's HTML wherever you want the widget to appear.
- That's it — the widget renders, sizes itself, and keeps itself updated.
WordPress: add a “Custom HTML” block and paste the script tag.
Squarespace / Wix / Weebly: add a “Code” / “Embed HTML” element. If your plan strips scripts, use the plain-iframe code instead.
Anything else: if you can paste HTML, it works. Multiple airports? Paste one tag per airport.
Who embeds this widget
Flight schools
Put your home field's live flight category and wind on your dispatch or students page — the first thing every student checks before driving to the airport.
FBOs
Show arriving pilots your field's current conditions and any active FAA delay right on your arrivals or pilot-info page.
Flying clubs & EAA chapters
A live club-field status box on the homepage keeps members from asking 'is anyone flying today?'
Airport authorities & blogs
Give your visitors live operating conditions without building or maintaining any weather integration.
About the data
Weather comes from the FAA/NWS Aviation Weather Center (aviationweather.gov) METAR feed; delay status comes from the FAA National Airspace System Status feed (nasstatus.faa.gov), refreshed about every two minutes. Fields without their own station show the nearest reporting station, clearly labeled. If a feed is briefly unavailable the widget says so rather than showing stale or fabricated data. Built by ATIS Alerts, a product of The Better Travelers, LLC.
Widget FAQ
Is the widget really free?
Yes — free for any website, no account, no API key, no traffic limits within reason. We ask only that you keep the small 'Powered by ATIS Alerts' credit link intact; that credit is how the free widget stays free.
What data does it show, and how fresh is it?
Current METAR-derived conditions (flight category, wind, visibility, ceiling, temperature, altimeter), a plain-English summary, and any active FAA ground stop or delay for the airport. Weather refreshes every couple of minutes and the widget reloads itself every 10 minutes.
Will it slow my site down?
No. The loader is about 2 KB, loads async, and the widget renders in an isolated iframe of roughly 8 KB with no external fonts or frameworks — it can't touch your page's styles or scripts.
Can I embed more than one airport?
Yes — paste the script tag once per airport. The widgets size themselves independently.
Which airports are supported?
Every public US airport in our database (13,000+). Fields without their own weather station automatically show the nearest reporting station, clearly labeled.
Can I remove the 'Powered by ATIS Alerts' credit?
No — the attribution link is the license for the free widget. If you need a white-label or customized version, contact us.
Is this official FAA data?
The widget displays data sourced from public FAA/NWS feeds (aviationweather.gov and the FAA NAS Status system), but it is not an official FAA product and must not be presented as an operational data source.
Terms of use
The widget is free for any website — commercial or personal — provided the “Powered by ATIS Alerts” credit link remains visible and unmodified. Don't present the widget as an official FAA product or an operational data source. We may update the widget's design and data over time; embed codes keep working. Need a custom, multi-airport, or white-label version? Contact us.
Live weather radar widget
Put an interactive NEXRAD weather radar for your field right on your site — the same radar imagery as our airport pages, centered on your airport and refreshing itself. One copy-paste line, free.
